These are such a simple cookie to make! They can be made soft or hard depending on preference ( I make mine on the softer side) and they have just the right amount of Anise to give them the best flavour. These are definitely great with a cup of coffee or tea.

Ingredients

- 4 cups flour

- 1 1/2 cup sugar

- 2 tablespoon Anise Seed ( rube with both hands before adding it to the mixer)

- 1 tablespoon ground Anise powder

- 2 teaspoon baking powder

- 1 cup Vegetable oil

- 1 cup milk

Directions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F

2. In a large bowl add the flour, sugar, Anise powder and baking powder. Take the Anise Seed and place in your hand and rub your hands together. Whisk altogether.

3. Pour oil and milk over dry ingredients and with a wooden spoon combine until dough comes together.

4. Let dough rest for about 30 mins, while resting you can prepare the baking sheet.

5. Take the dough and shape it.

6. Bake for about 10 mins or until brown then broil for 5 mins. The longer you bake them the harder they become! If you like them soft don't over bake.
